“I didn’t know what to do anymore.”

Motherhood was fraught with challenges from the beginning for Tamela, as she navigated the NICU after a difficult pregnancy, and then soon after went through a divorce.

Not willing to be defined by her struggles, Tamela went on to raise her child, earn a degree, and now is the director of Lighthouse Pregnancy and Health Services in the Hillsboro and Vandalia area of Illinois.
