Katie’s Story | Effingham IL

“I do wish that I had the teenage life everybody so dreams about.”

Katie discovered she was pregnant as a young teenager. Navigating her own fears and the disappointment of her religious family, Katie found her way to The Family Life Center in Effingham IL. There she discovered support, hope, and mentors as she began the journey of being a mother.

Now, as she reflects on that journey, she attributes her daughter for giving her a renewed sense of purpose in life, as she’s finishing up school and making plans for her career ahead.
